A restaurant in Vancouver's South Granville neighbourhood has left fans saddened to learn the venue has closed "indefinitely" while owners focus on their other projects.
Fiore, located at 1485 W 12th Ave (in the ex-Siena space), is one of several restaurants in an expanding group that also includes Fiore Famiglia on West 16th at Trafalgar and the newly-opened Coquette, a French-inspired brasserie on Arbutus.
However, the restaurant group's roots took hold in South Granville about a decade ago with The Stable House, which focuses on wine, charcuterie and bistro dishes.
Though Fiore has not yet published a notice on its social media (@fioreyvr on Instagram), the restaurant's website offers this message: "Fiore South Granville is indefinitely closed until further notice. In the meantime check out our sister restaurants."
Reportedly, a server told customers ahead of its recent closure that the plan was to focus attention on the other restaurants in the group at this time.
Fiore moved into the former Siena space in 2018, launching with a menu of house-made pasta, pizza, cocktails and wine. During the pandemic, Fiore switched gears in the restaurant to focus on take-out and marketplace items, setting up an Italian grocery shop and offering ready-to-eat dishes.
