There’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants and food in Richmond, but a new eatery has opened and offers a twist to the classic hotdog.
Kiraku Sushi, which took over the former Richmond Pepper Lunch location, officially opened its doors for soft opening in October.
The restaurant, opened by a father and son duo, offers a “sushi hot dog” item featuring a deep-fried “hot dog bun” made of sushi rice and seaweed, raw fish and toppings such as avocado, cucumber and tobiko.
Other unique items on the store’s “testing menu” include tacos, burritos, donuts and cakes all made of sushi, according to Kiraku’s Instagram page.
It also serves classic Japanese dishes, sushi, hot foods on the menu.
Kiraku Sushi is located at #150 – 5951 No. 3 Rd. and will have its official grand opening on Nov. 1.
