Popular local tableware brand adding café to its Vancouver retail store

The shop's built-in counter space is soon going to put to its intended use.

It's been just over a year since globally popular tableware brand Fable opened its long-awaited South Granville retail store, and nearly as long for physical transformation to begin to open a coffee and tea bar within.

Now, Fable has officially revealed it will soon launch Fable Café, which will serve a selection of coffee and drinks and sweet treats to enjoy in-store or for takeout.

The shop has had a coffee bar counter along one side of the room since it opened in September 2023, and the plan all along has been to use it for an in-store café, however, it took quite some time to obtain the appropriate permits.

Fable Café will follow the no-tip, living wage model, and, like other popular contemporaries (like Cowdog), they will not impose a surcharge for subbing in oat milk.

The business has partnered with three local businesses to source coffee and tea. Timbertrain for coffee beans, O5 Rare Tea Bar for teas, and Emeri for matcha and hojicha.

With construction "well underway," according to a rep for Fable, excitement is building for the business, known for its durable, minimalist dishes, serving ware, and glassware, though, at the moment they aren't able to determine an exact opening date.

Fable's Vancouver showroom and retail shop (and soon, Café) is located at 2871 Granville St. Follow @fablehome on Instagram.
