You ever get that 'I don't belong here' feeling? Whoah...hang on though, put down that Morrisey CD, this is VIA. I'm talking the 'Dude...I don't think I'm even suppose to be in here, but this place is THE BEST!' kind of 'I don't belong here'. That's how I felt last month when somehow, one of my friends invited me to, not only a Canucks game, but also a trip to the Captain's Room! The Captain's room is a buffet at Rogers arena only available during Canucks games, and for people who have club seats, or are in a box.
I've shared my distaste for the Calgary Flames many a time on this website, but I must admit that it's diminishing. It could be that the Canucks are having possibly their best season ever, it could be Oiler's fans going on about their 'future'. On this particular night though, the Captain's room made an SOL feel like, 'well, can't win 'em all.....'
OK...it's not cheap, $50.00 is alot of dough, but at the same time, price out a burger, fries, and a beer, at the concession or a pre-game steak, it's up the same alley. It's a quality buffet too, alot like brunch at one of the nicer hotels. What impressed me the most though was the desserts, I think you girls will really appreciate this because you know how it's always.... 'I just can't decide!?' Well look at all these little guys....you get to try them all. Cannolis, eclairs, tarts, cheesecake, home made ice cream sandwiches?! One of each please....
Now this is what's really going to mess you up. You know between the first and second period, while everyone is scrambling to get another beer, lining up for the washroom, texting everyone they know, this is what's waiting for me in the Captain's Room.....This is my second period....
