Juicy Joe's has emerged as one of Vancouver's prime spots for smashburgers, and now the take-out and delivery operation is expanding into a restaurant space of its own.
As shared on Instagram by the team at the Kitsilano 4th Avenue Business Improvement Association, Juicy Joe's is opening at 2004 W 4th Ave.
The address had previously been home to Cixi Wonton, which operated at the location from late 2021 until May of this year.
Juicy Joe's has been operating as a "secret" burger spot, using the 2211 Granville St space that is home to Paul's Omelettery. The burger biz offered take-out and delivery only from their shared kitchen base.
Owner Sina Zamansani shared with V.I.A. by email that Juicy Joe's will be moving its full operation to the new brick-and-mortar shop.
"This new space will have a larger kitchen and extended opening hours, allowing us to enhance food quality and accommodate higher volumes," describes Zamansani.
The Juicy Joe's menu is largely concentrated on its smashburger offerings, which come in several iterations, from a classic cheeseburger with house-made sauce to a fully stacked Mushroom & Blue (featuring sauteed mushrooms, blue cheese, and caramelized onions). They also serve a couple of fried chicken burgers, as well as offer plant-based alternatives for fried chicken and beef, using meat-free products.
Juicy Joe's has fries, yam fries, and a few poutine options, as well as chicken tender meals and salads. For dessert, cookies or strawberry cheesecake.
The plan is to keep the menu largely unchanged, but Zamansani says they will add a few more items once they're up and running in Kits.
The expansion gives Juicy Joe's a terrific opportunity to grow its operation. "With a larger kitchen and more staff training, we aim to deliver high-quality, fresh food to our local community. We are committed to maintaining our standards and providing exceptional food experiences," shares Zamansani.
The restaurant will continue to offer take-out and delivery from the new location, too.
No opening date has been set for Juicy Joe's forthcoming Kitsilano restaurant location, though Zamansani says it should be within the next few months.
