After 40 years on Vancouver's Denman Street, Won More Szechuan is closing permanently.
Open since 1984, the Chinese restaurant has long been a place for dishes like shrimp fried rice, beef fried noodles and BBQ Pork Foo Yung. However, the restaurant's lengthy run has come to an end
"For now we are closing our doors at this time," reads part of a note on the door.
It's unclear when the last day for Won More was or is, as the note posted on the restaurant's exterior is undated and does not give a last date of operation.
So far, Google and Yelp have not updated their listings for Won More to reflect a permanent closure. The restaurant has been operating for dinner service only for dine-in, take-out, and delivery starting at 4 p.m. from Wednesday through Monday.
The goodbye note from Won More's owners also includes a thank you to customers.
"Thank you for your unwavering support of Won More throughout the years," reads the note. "Your loyalty and patronage have been the cornerstone of our success and we are deeply grateful for your continued trust in us."
Fans of Won More may be able to find the food at another location one day.
"We want to inform you that while we are closing our current location, this is not farewell but a see you soon," reads the note. "In the future, we plan to relocate and reopen."
However, no new location has been announced at this time.
Located at 1184 Denman St., Won More was slightly hidden among the wide collection of restaurants on Denman's south end, tucked up on the second floor.
