We've hit peak summer, and some of local produce's most flavourful gems are in the spotlight, like tomatoes and corn.

Dining al fresco, sumptuous seafood boils, and a day dedicated to dumplings are just a few of the ways food and drink are being celebrated in the coming weeks. Plus, White Spot's beloved Pirate Pak Day packs all the playful fun (for a great cause) while there is no shortage of festivals and special dinners. 

Here are some upcoming Metro Vancouver food and drink events to put on your radar for maximum deliciousness this summer.

Tomato Festival at Provence Marinaside

August is peak tomato season in B.C., and Provence Marinaside is celebrating with its annual Tomato Festival. From August 1 to 31, the Yaletown restaurant offers a special three-course menu for $79, showcasing the vibrant flavours of local heirloom tomatoes in dishes inspired by the South of France. Expect juicy, sun-ripened tomatoes in every shape, colour, and preparation—from raw and roasted to savoury tarte and pizzetta. Crafted by Executive Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia and his team, this festival is a must for tomato lovers.

Oyster Month at Coast Restaurant

Why limit the fun to one day? Coast is celebrating National Oyster Day all month long with $1.50 oysters during daily Happy Hour throughout August. Dive into fresh, premium oysters at a steal—perfectly paired with a crisp glass of wine or a classic cocktail. Whether you're a longtime oyster lover or just discovering the joy of a good shuck, this downtown seafood spot has you covered.

8th anniversary menu at St. Lawrence

To mark its eighth anniversary this August, Vancouver’s Michelin-starred St. Lawrence presents a special "Table Champêtre"-inspired four-course menu celebrating Québécois cuisine. Chef/Owner J-C Poirier draws on local, seasonal ingredients and personal favourites from his culinary journey, including recipes from his award-winning cookbook. Priced at $125 per person, optional beverage pairings are available to elevate the experience. The menu is offered throughout August and reservations are recommended.

Fat Mao Noodles celebrates 10 years

This August, Fat Mao Noodles marks 10 years of slinging some of Vancouver’s most beloved Thai-style noodle bowls, with more than 750,000 served since opening in Chinatown. To celebrate, two fan favourites are returning for a limited time: Tom Kha Coconut Mushroom Soup (Aug 1–15) and Southern Thai Beef Laksa (Aug 16–31), available at both the Chinatown and Downtown locations. Anniversary perks include $5 Crispy Lagers with any noodle bowl, a limited-edition t-shirt featuring the brand’s happy noodle-slurping cat, and a fun lucky cat guessing contest in Chinatown for a chance to win a $100 gift card.

Chilliwack Corn Festival at Greendale Acres

It's CORN! A big lump with knobs! Celebrate summer farm-style at the Chilliwack Corn Festival from August 2 to 4 at Greendale Acres. Enjoy fresh corn on the cob, a new bee-themed corn maze, live music from Larry Edwards & The Johnny Bootleg Trio and more, plus family-friendly activities and contests like corn shucking and eating. There’s even a Saturday night cornhole tournament and licensed events for adults.

Boozy Summer Brunch at La Taqueria (Brentwood)

La Taqueria Brentwood’s Boozy Summer Brunch Series kicks off with a wild twist: a limited-edition Donut Breakfast Sandwich in collaboration with their new neighbours at Lee’s Donuts. Available Sunday, July 6, and Sunday, August 3, only the sweet-and-savoury creation features a toasted yeast donut packed with maple bacon, cheesy scrambled eggs, and smoky chipotle-poblano mayo, served with crispy parmesan-dusted potatoes. Expect brunchy vibes with DJs spinning from 11 a.m. and a $24.99 DIY mimosa kit to keep things bubbly.

Pride Weekend at Barra Gitano

Celebrate Pride in the West End with a weekend of music, margaritas, and modern Latin flavours at Barra Gitano. Friday’s Queer As Funk Official Afterparty kicks off at 10 p.m. with DJ O Show and late-night bites. Saturday brings DJ Del Stamp spinning Pride anthems from 9 p.m., alongside tequila cocktails and shareable plates like ceviche and tacos. On Sunday, the Pride Day T-Dance runs 4 to 10 p.m. with DJs Kasey Riot, O Show, and Carolina Campos, plus all-day happy hour specials. Expect high vibes, flavourful eats, and a patio party atmosphere all weekend long.

Farmhouse Fest

Farmhouse Fest returns to UBC Farm on August 9, 2025, for its ninth year of celebrating funky, wild, and wood-aged brews. Expect saisons, sours, wild ales, Lambics, and cider from across the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and Europe—perfect for those who like their drinks a little weird (in the best way).

When: August 9, from 1:30 to 7 p.m.

Ugly Produce Day

What started as one man’s mission to fight food waste has grown into a massive, heart-filled movement. Ty Heppell, aka @potatoty, returns with Ugly Produce Day—offering free farm-fresh produce, bread, and even chocolate to anyone who shows up. This year’s event, supported by Odd Bunch, aims to break the record for the most local produce ever donated in Canada. Expect food trucks, a live DJ, family-friendly fun, and thousands coming together to take a stand against food insecurity.

B.C. Dumpling Festival

The 4th Annual B.C. Dumpling Festival returns to the Tri-Cities for a free, family-friendly celebration of culture and community. Presented by the Asian Arts and Culture Society, the fest features dumplings from around the world, live entertainment, and activities for all ages, plus a dumpling eating contest.

When: August 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tequila Garden Party at Bow & Stern Brentwood

Kick off the weekend early with a lively Tequila Garden party at Bow & Stern Brentwood on Friday, August 9. From 2 to 8 p.m., the patio transforms with Don Julio tequila cocktails, a build-your-own taco station, and a margarita stand, all set against festive custom décor. Sip, snack, and soak up the summer vibes with branded glassware and umbrellas courtesy of Breakthru Beverage. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome for this spirited afternoon escape.

Wild Blue Long Table Dinner

Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar has brought back its Long Table Dinner Series for the third consecutive year in Whistler Village. The second of its two 2025 dates is August 10, and the outdoor dinner takes place at The Range at Whistler Golf Club, offering stunning mountain views. Chef Alex Chen and Executive Chef Derek Bendig have curated a four-course menu featuring local ingredients, complemented by wine pairings from the restaurant’s partners. Neil Henderson, Restaurant Director, will host the evening. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation.

Wine dinner with Jermann at Italian Kitchen

Italian Kitchen is hosting a special five-course wine dinner featuring elegant pairings from the renowned Italian winery Jermann. The menu highlights late-summer ingredients with dishes like Yellowfin Tuna Tartare paired with Pinot Grigio, Roasted Sungold Tomato Cavatelli, Iberico Pork Fillet, Herb-Crusted Veal Rack, and BC Honey Panna Cotta. Rare Jermann wines, including Blau & Blau and Picolit, complement each course. Tickets are $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Pirate Pak Day at White Spot

Ahoy, mateys! White Spot’s beloved Pirate Pak Day returns on Wednesday, August 13, inviting diners of all ages to relive the classic B.C. dining tradition. For one day only, $2 from every Pirate Pak sold will be donated to Zajac Ranch for Children, a charity that offers unforgettable camp experiences to kids with serious medical conditions and disabilities. Served in the iconic paper boat, each meal includes a burger or classic entrée, fries, coleslaw, ice cream, and a “gold” chocolate coin. With 51 locations across BC participating, it’s a feel-good way to feast and give back.

South Granville's GranVino Wine Walk 

On August 16, South Granville will host its first-ever GranVino Wine Walk, a vibrant tasting tour through the neighbourhood’s shops, galleries, and concept stores. Guests can sip from over 20 curated wine, cider, and spirit stops while enjoying live music, in-store activations, and plenty of stylish surprises along the way. Event is 19+ only.

Tanduay Rum Boodle Fight at H2 Kitchen + Bar

Celebrate Filipino culture and cuisine with a communal feast at H2 Kitchen + Bar on Friday, August 15. This long-table dinner features a soulful menu by Chef Homer Baisa, showcasing dishes like smoked lechon liempo, adobo fried chicken wings, pancit palabok, and Southern-inspired sides. Kick off with prawn-and-scallop kinilaw and brisket lumpia, then dive into hearty mains served kamayan-style—eaten with your hands. Burgers to Beat MS Day at A&W

A&W’s annual Burgers to Beat MS Day returns on Thursday, August 21, raising funds to support Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis. For every Teen Burger sold that day, A&W will donate $2 to MS Canada to help fund research, treatment, and care programs. Supporters can also pitch in by rounding up their bill in restaurants, donating through the A&W app or website, or adding a donation when ordering on UberEats. It’s an easy (and tasty) way to make a difference.

Fairmont Waterfront’s Garden Dinner Series returns this summer with a series of rooftop evenings. Here's what lies ahead: August 21 showcasing Quails’ Gate Estate Winery. Each night offers a unique multi-course menu by Executive Chef Harris Sakalis paired with wines from that evening’s featured winery. Guests will enjoy local seafood, garden-fresh produce, rooftop-harvested honey, live music, and insights from the hotel’s beekeeping and distillery partners. With limited seating and stunning harbour views, this intimate series celebrates sustainable B.C. food and wine in a truly Vancouver setting.

When: August 21 at 6 p.m.

Seafood Boil at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

Boulevard’s beloved summer Seafood Boil returns for its 11th year, offering an al fresco feast on their elegant downtown patio. Guests will gather at communal long tables to enjoy a four-course Southern-inspired seafood spread by Executive Chef Roger Ma, featuring local Dungeness crab, mussels, clams, and oysters from Fanny Bay. Jewkarta presents RASA at Torafuku

For their inaugural culinary event, RASA, Jewkarta (Vancouver's own Jewish-Indonesian food site) is offering a gourmet three-course dinner exploring the rich and underappreciated world of Indonesian cuisine. Taking place on Tuesday, August 26, at Torafuku, the menu blends authentic Indonesian flavours with refined French cooking techniques. Two seatings are available at 5:30 and 8 p.m., with optional wine pairings to elevate the bold, vibrant dishes. It’s a rare chance to experience Indonesian food like never before in Metro Vancouver.

Kimchi & K-Food Festival

The first-ever Kimchi & K-Food Festival is coming to Lougheed Town Centre on September 5–6, celebrating Korea’s iconic dish alongside a wide variety of street foods and international cuisines. The free, family-friendly event features food trucks, live multicultural performances, K-pop dance battles, traditional crafts, and games inspired by Korean culture.

Feast of Fields 2025: Metro Vancouver

Feast of Fields is more than a culinary event; it is a celebration of British Columbia’s sustainable food movement and a fundraiser for FarmFolk CityFolk’s work to support resilient local food systems. Guests can enjoy gourmet bites and sips made with locally sourced ingredients while connecting with chefs, bakers, vintners, brewers, distillers, and other food artisans in beautiful outdoor farm settings. The events are a vibrant reflection of B.C.’s food culture and a chance to meet the people behind the plate. A Vancouver Island event takes place August 24 and one in the Okanagan on September 21. Locally, the Metro Vancouver event is at beautiful Athiana Acres in Richmond on September 7.

Inaugural Divers’ Catch Gala

Mark your calendars for September 20, 2025, as the BC Dive Fisheries Society hosts the inaugural Divers’ Catch Gala at The Deck at Radisson Blu in Richmond. This elegant evening celebrates BC’s dive-harvested delicacies—geoduck, sea urchin, and sea cucumber—with dishes crafted by top local chefs like Ned Bell, Will Lew, and Bobby Milheron. Taste Sound: An Immersive Dining Experience at Burdock & Co

Burdock & Co continues its Taste Sound dinner series with an evening of sonic gastronomy featuring musician and biologist Tarun Nayar (Modern Biology). On three upcoming dates, guests will experience Chef Andrea Carlson’s menus while listening to the bioelectric activity of its ingredients through biodata sonification. This multisensory collaboration explores the connection between taste and sound, offering a unique way to engage with food. Beverages available in addition include natural wines curated by Kelcie Jones, the Vancouver Michelin Guide’s 2023 Sommelier of the Year and a signature cocktail. The themes for the dinners in the series are Road Trip (Sept. 25) and Radicchio (Nov. 20). Tickets are on sale for all dinners in the series now.

Sipping Around B.C. Dinner Series at L'Abattoir

L'Abattoir’s popular Sipping Around B.C. dinner series returns, expanding to explore even more of British Columbia’s diverse wine regions. Presented in partnership with S. Pellegrino, each dinner brings together top BC winemakers and winery principals for an evening of expertly paired food and wine, celebrating terroir, microclimates, and the unique varietals shaping BC’s wine industry. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase featured wines at cellar door pricing. Tickets for each dinner will be available in the month before the event, with priority access for past attendees.

Wine Wednesdays at DD Mau

DD Mau Chinatown has introduced an all–B.C. wine list designed to pair with its bold Vietnamese menu, featuring options like sparkling Chardonnay and chillable Merlot. Starting July 16, the restaurant will offer $8 glasses every Wednesday, alongside $2 off their chicken wings for Wingin’ It Wednesdays.

Koolfest

The team behind Vancouver's popular wintertime Hot Chocolate Festival have come up with a way for chocolatey drink lovers to enjoy something special in the warmer months. Called Koolfest, the summer festival will feature the "region's craziest, most colourful and delicious iced drink creations." Expect some new and returning vendors from the Hot Chocolate Fest crew.

Eatfish.ca pop up in Steveston

EatFISH.ca (formerly Fresh Ideas Start Here) has dropped anchor at Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf with a new seasonal pop-up, open Saturdays and Sundays through September 28, 2025. Operating out of the Pacific Promise boat, the pop-up features fresh local seafood, ready-to-eat favourites like seafood congee and black cod candy, and rotating chef collaborations with local producers.

Arc Restaurant x Hype Chocolate Pop-Up 

Downtown's Fairmont Waterfront has teamed up with local dessert purveyors Hype Chocolate for a summer artisanal ice cream pop-up next to Arc Restaurant’s patio. Open weekends through mid-September, the pop-up features inventive flavours like Lemon, Wildflower Honey & Thyme sorbet and Salted Chocolate with Vancouver Island sea salt, plus rotating treats and indulgent berry cups topped with warm chocolate.

Summer Pasta Pop-Up at Loam Bistro

Loam Bistro in North Vancouver is launching a weekend Summer Pasta Pop-Up starting July 18, bringing Italian-inspired dishes to its evening lineup. Chef and co-owner Rahul Negi draws on his global culinary training to showcase handmade pastas, fresh West Coast ingredients, and refined small plates, complemented by a curated wine list from local purveyor Sansorium. The pop-up runs Fridays and Saturdays and offers a cozy, elevated dining experience at one of the North Shore’s most popular brunch spots.

Fridays on Front

Fridays On Front is back for another summer of food, music, and community vibes in Downtown New West. Running July 11 to August 22, this free, family-friendly series transforms Front Street Mews into a lively block party with themed nights, local vendors, and live entertainment. Hosted by crowd-favourite Justin Abit, each evening brings a unique celebration—from Indigenous culture to video game fandom. You'll find food trucks, an artisan market, a kids zone, live performances, and a fully licensed site, with beer from local fave Steel & Oak.

When: Fridays from July 11 to August 22

Vancouver Ice Cream Festival

Now in its third year, organizers have brought over 30 restaurants, cafés, and sweet shops on board who will each be offering signature items or special fest creations from June 20 to August 4. All of the sales of the event treats stay with the business, making the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival a great way to support local this summer.

There is no admission fee and anyone can visit the participating shops during their regular business hours to taste these new flavours created for the festival. Be aware that some vendors might have multiple locations and only specific ones participate in the festival. Prices will vary by location.

The Perfect Bite: Interactive murder-mystery dinner

The immersive dining experience, The Perfect Bite, inspired by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, has been extended in Vancouver until August 31. Le Picnic in the JW Garden 

Summer’s in full swing, and the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver has reopened its dreamy rooftop pop-up, Le Picnic in the JW Garden, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot. Set on the 17th floor, this garden-inspired escape pairs champagne cocktails, seasonal bites, and live music (Fridays and Saturdays from 3 to 7 p.m.) with stunning views and sunny vibes. Newly appointed Executive Chef Colin Burslem brings fresh energy—and ingredients straight from the JW Garden—to the picnic-perfect menu. For non-hotel guests, bookings are available online.

Minami in Yaletown is launching its new Kanpai! Happy Hour menu, available daily from 3 to 5 p.m. starting June 20. Inspired by Japan’s nomikai culture, the menu features shareable small plates, curated highballs, and zero-proof sips—perfect for casual catch-ups or spontaneous cheers with friends. Expect favourites like Chicken Karaage, Aburi Fish n Chips, and the signature Minami Martini.

Paella Patio Series: Paella Guys x ¿CóMO? Taperia

The beloved Paella Patio Series returns to ¿CóMO? Taperia starting May 25 and running select Sundays through August 31 (rain or shine). Back for its fifth year, this summer tradition features live paella cooking on the patio with the Paella Guys, who prepare their signature Paella Mixta in a massive 60-person pan. Guests can enjoy the spectacle while sipping Spanish wines, vermouths, and cocktails, and snacking on standout tapas like BBQ Spanish octopus, fried cauliflower with hazelnut romesco, and conservas. With a festive vibe, covered seating, and a menu made for lingering, it’s one of the city’s most delicious ways to spend a summer Sunday.

Taste of the Summit returns to the Sea to Sky Gondola’s Summit Patio every Thursday evening through Sept. 11, offering Mediterranean-inspired tapas, live acoustic sets by emerging local artists, and unbeatable alpine views. The open-air dining series runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with walk-ins welcome and limited reservations available (gondola ticket or pass required).

Dive In Movies at Hero's Welcome

During the summer, Mount Pleasant's Hero's Welcome is getting cinematic with its new Dive-In Movie Mondays. They will be showing a nostalgia-inducing double feature every week featuring tried and true movie classics. You're welcome to bring a blanket and kick up your feet and get cozy. Hero's Welcome is a liquor primary establishment, but minors accompanied by a parent/guardian (and supervised at all times) are welcome until 8 p.m. daily. The bar/restaurant will have Happy Hour all night on Mondays, featuring pizza by the slice; snack packs with pizza, popcorn, and candy; or "grown up" snack packs with a beer add-on.

Food Truck Fridays in Maple Ridge

Food Truck Fridays roll into Maple Ridge this summer, thanks to a new partnership between the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival and the City of Maple Ridge. The seried kicked off on May 30 and runs every Friday through August 29 at the Albion Community Centre, the weekly event brings a rotating lineup of top local food trucks serving up everything from tacos and burgers to Malaysian street food and Hawaiian hot dogs. It’s a family-friendly community hangout with something delicious for everyone, rain or shine. 

The current lineup includes:

  • August 1: Alohaaa - Hawaiian Inspired Hot Dogs
  • August 8: Big Bites Gourmet Burger
  • August 15: Tacosaurus Vancouver
  • August 22: Slavic Rolls
  • August 29: EGG Blanket

Sunday Roast at Hawskworth

Enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast feast in downtown Vancouver at Hawksworth. The Greek Gastown is turning up the summer vibes with Tequila Thursdays, featuring a special menu of Hornitos-based cocktails—like a watermelon margarita with a spicy kick and a horchata-inspired twist on the classic. As part of Gastown Thursday Nights, the festivities also include DJ sets and tequila tasters, with mini cocktail shots and happy hour running daily.

Richmond Night Market

Richmond hosts one of the largest outdoor markets in North America and has up to 150 retail stalls and 130 food vendors, as well as entertainment and carnival games. This year it is adding a 600-foot zipline ride by to celebrate its 25th anniversary (available starting May 19). 

Also, to celebrate 25 years, the market will also offer happy hour specials and admission discounts. Every night, drinks will be under $7 and food under $10 at every food stall, while admission will be $5 after 10 p.m. General admission is $7 for anyone older than 7 but under 60; kids up to 7 and those 60+ get in for free. A Zoom Pass, which gives you the ability to skip the line, is $35.

Sunday Seafood Boil for Two at The Sandbar

Available every Sunday night starting from May 4, The Sandbar's Seafood Boil for Two ($109) includes a full pound of mussels and clams, jumbo prawns, two lobster tails, Old Bay broth, Andouille sausage, potatoes, and local corn on the cob.
