To the hurrah of locals, a beloved Vancouver cheese deli has finally reopened its doors after a seven month long renovation.
La Grotta Del Formaggio began their "long awaited renovation" to their 1791 Commercial Drive deli on Apr. 4 this year with a slated reopening in late June. However, as that anticipated date arrived, the deli postponed the reopening for another month.
Now, a week into October, the deli shop finally opened with a soft launch on Oct. 3.
"We're so happy to be open again! Thanks for your patience as we get familiar with our new setup," writes the shop in a Facebook post.
The long-standing Italian cheese deli has been in business for 45 years, started by husband and wife Fortunato and Anna Bruzzese in 1977, and has become a favourite in Vancouver's Italian neighbourhood.
