A near-century-old Vancouver bakery revealed its new location after leaving its longtime Kitsilano home.
Many locals have a soft spot for Notte's Bon Ton bakery– one of the oldest bakeries in the city.
It first opened in 1926 on Granville Street before eventually moving to the Kitsilano neighbourhood where it is still a go-to for pastries, cakes, and other artisan-style baked goods. The establishment is known for its popular Diplomat Cake.
Notte's Bon Ton's former location has been up for sale off and on since 2020 and many customers thought it was closing for good, but the current owner told V.I.A. that it is merely relocating. The bakery's last day of service in Kitsilano was April 22.
As of May 30, the bakery's website displays an updated address at 2515 Alma St. Notte's Bon Ton's Instagram notes that the new location will be opening soon.
While the business doesn't state an official opening date, the owner previously told V.I.A. that it won't reopen until sometime in the fall.
V.I.A. has reached out to Notte's Bon Ton for more information.
