A sushi restaurant on West Broadway appears to have closed recently.
"For Lease" signs are up in the windows of Shoku, a Japanese restaurant specializing in sushi located at 1177 W Broadway in Vancouver's Fairview neighbourhood.
It's unclear when its final day of business was.
While no official notice has been given, the business license for Shoku has been updated to "Gone out of business," and the Instagram account for the restaurant appears to have been inactive for months.
The location has also appeared on real estate sites as available to lease.
The area Shoku was located in is one of the densest sushi areas in the region, with many competitors within a short walk of Shoku's address.
Shoku was only around for a short time. It opened in October of 2023, replacing Raga Restaurant. Raga was one of the city's oldest Indian restaurants, operating for more than 40 years before it closed in January 2022.
