One of Vancouver's waterfront restaurants, Mahony's on False Creek, has been sold.

Big changes are coming to one of Vancouver's waterfront restaurants.

Mahony's on False Creek, at 601 Stamps Landing, has been sold and a pop-up concept is moving in for the summer.

Then, in October 2025, the site will get significant overhauls as a brand new concept is prepared: Mishree on the Water.

Mahony's bids adieu

In a post on the Mahony's website, founder Pete Mahony says leaving the False Creek location (which opened in 2014) was difficult but exciting.

"While we’ll miss our False Creek home; this isn’t goodbye--it’s simply a new beginning. We are so grateful for the friendships, memories, and support over the last decade," writes Mahony.

Mahony's still has a location at the Vancouver Convention Centre, and the sale of the False Creek location means Mahony and his team will focus on their remaining spot.

"With its recent renovations and a renewed commitment to delivering an exceptional experience, we’re eager to welcome you downtown for the same great hospitality you’ve come to love," Mahony writes.

He adds that the new owners, Mishree Restaurant Concepts, plan to operate under the Mahony's banner through the summer.

Summer time pop up

Mahoney's will keep running for the spring and summer, says Mishree Restaurant Concepts managing director Shraey Gulati, with a new 300-seat pop-up on the patio.

It'll be called the Bae Side.

"This concept introduces an evolved food menu and a focus on craft cocktails, curated by Mishree Cocktails and Cuisine," Gulati tells Vancouver is Awesome in an email.

Mishree is an upscale Indian restaurant in Mississauga; it's part of a group of restaurants including Delta's Tandoori Flame.

Big renovations and a brand new restaurant

Starting in October, the space will be closed down, Gulati says, and between $5 and $6 million in renovations and upgrades will take place.

"Post-renovation, we will unveil a new bohemian-inspired concept: Mishree on the Water," he says.

Mishree on the Water will have a broad menu, Gulati adds, featuring Pan-Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean dishes. And a touch of Indian.

The renovated restaurant will have 11,000 square feet of Tulum-inspired space over two stories.

Downstairs will seat 500 people, including an extended covered patio. The second floor will be an event space with room for up to 250 guests.

The plan is to open Mishree on the Water in the spring of 2026.
