Today marks a watershed moment in Vancouver dining. For the first time ever, the storied Vij's restaurant is offering customers the option of making a reservation.
Vij's has been going strong with their gently contemporary take on Indian fare since 1994, and has always operated on a first-come, first-served basis, which meant long lines at times for a table.
In 2015 the restaurant moved to its current--and more spacious--digs on Cambie. The move, says the restaurant, cut down on wait times, thanks to more seats available night to night, and a full-size bar and lounge for hanging out in (and in the summer, a fabulous rooftop patio).
So it's time for a bit of a shift. Starting Wednesday, October 10, customers will have access to some reserved slots for Vij's.
"In addition to ongoing 'first-come, first-seated' dining, a limited number of tables will be available for reservation online only through Vijsrestaurant.ca via OpenTable," notes Vij's. However, Vij's will not be accepting reservations via telephone, email, or social media. Nice try, rule breaker!
We have some exciting news to share with you! Vij's has been serving inspired Indian cuisine and warm hospitality in Vancouver, since 1994. We’ve also long been known for our nightly lineups for tables.
"We're pleased to be able to offer this service to our wonderful guests who have supported us so passionately over the years - as well as inspiring others to make their first visit to Vij’s. We look forward to seeing you soon," adds the restaurant in their announcement.
Vij's is located at 3106 Cambie Street in Vancouver
