It's Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions, one of Vancouver's quirkiest restaurants and hangouts, and they've just started doing lunch.
In addition to their playful drinks menu, which has everything from sangria slushies to creations like the Five Alive or the Taco Flavored Kisses, Mount Pleasant Vintage and Provisions is firing up their grills for a straightforward midday menu of wraps or platters, based around a Japanese-style salad, rice, and protein set-up.
To that end, on their "Charcoal Grilled Teriyaki" lunch menu you'll find proteins like grilled chicken, spicy pork, tofu, or shortribs, teamed up with a mound of white rice and a generous portion of a simple green salad with a creamy dressing. If you're looking for extra sauce, be it teriyaki or something hotter, the condiments are delivered to your table in a tin lunch box, like Snoopy or The Golden Girls.
They keep the sides simple, with golden fried tots and add-ons like kimchi or cheese sauce.
The vibes at Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions are top-notch thanks to its funky rec room decor and variety of spaces, from the loungey living room up front to the bright, modern bar area, and a pair of lively patios.
Lunch service just started earlier this month, and is available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is located at 67 W 6th Ave.
