A man charged with breaking into multiple Vancouver cars in a parking garage in December 2023 has been convicted of breaking and entering with intent to commit offence.

Jesse Kyle Adrian Welsh appeared before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Ellen Gordon on Jan. 7.

A court information sworn March 27, 2024, said Welsh was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit offence on Dec. 1, 2023, five counts of breaking into cars and four counts of thefts from cars the same day.

The garage was in the 400-block of West King Edward Ave.

Also for Dec. 1, 2023, Welsh is charged with obstructing two police officers.

Among items taken from the cars were a Bible, sunglasses, discs, a walking cane, coins and a flashlight. Welsh was granted bail April 3.

Bail conditions included not possessing ceramic rocks; pry bars or bolt cutters; hammers screwdrivers or pliers, slim jims (lockout tools), or lock picks; blow torches or grinders; or night-vision goggles.

He was also barred from parkades, parking lots, vehicle dealerships or property where vehicles are repaired, sold or rented.

Stays of proceedings were entered on all counts other than the break and enter, the B.C. courts online database said.
