Amber Jenelle Toews, 35, from Edmonton, has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief under $5,000.

An Edmonton woman who has been charged with assaulting a couple in B.C. is still wanted Canada-wide.

Amber Jenelle Toews, 35, has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000 from a road rage incident in September.

A couple from Mission was in a Tim Hortons drive-thru at Lougheed Highway and Cedar Valley Connector around 10 a.m. on Sept. 8 when they honked at the car in front of them because they were not moving forward in the lineup.

Once they drove out of the drive-thru, the people in the other vehicle drove up beside them and the woman allegedly threw a coffee cup at their vehicle.

The couple told police the vehicle followed them for two kilometres until Bakerview Avenue and Cedar Street. Two people got out of a Malibu and allegedly assaulted the couple with a baseball bat before driving off.

Police identified the suspects as Toews and Johnathan Hebrada-Walters, 38, also from Edmonton.

Hebrada-Walters was found dead Sept. 21 and investigators say his murder is related to the B.C. gang conflict.

The road rage incident is not believed to be connected to the homicide of Hebrada-Walters.

The couple, a 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man from Mission, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Toews and there is no confirmation that she returned to Alberta.

"Amber has been known to travel around B.C. and other western provinces as well,” says a media relations officer.

Mission RCMP is working with police in Alberta to try to locate and arrest her.

Toews has short blond hair, a sleeve tattoo on her left arm and a tattoo on her right thigh.

If you see Toews, call 911 immediately and do not approach her. Anyone with information about her is asked to contact police at 604-826-7161.
