I'm excited to announce that Brendan Kergin has joined the growing Vancouver Is Awesome editorial team, as a full-time reporter.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Thompson Rivers University in 2013, Brendan has been working in Kamloops for the past few years.
You may recognize his byline as we've published quite a few stories he's written for our sister publication, Castanet Kamloops. In fact, he wrote one of our most popular syndicated stories of 2018, about a local bag of chips that made it onto television.
Brendan will be bringing you stories about local politics, social issues, and quirky stories you don't expect.
He tells me that "Getting to know a new city and explore all that Vancouver has to offer, from the odd to the grand," is what he's most looking forward to in his new role.
"Also, the chance to write a story that'll make Seth Rogen go 'huh?'"
