Driver crashes through West Vancouver liquor store window

One bystander was taken to hospital with minor injuries

One person was taken to hospital after a driver crashed their vehicle through the window of a West Vancouver liquor store, Wednesday.

The incident happened at the Caulfeild Village BC Liquor Store around 12:30 p.m., according to West Vancouver police spokesperson Suzanne Birch

“The vehicle’s driver was not injured, but one person did suffer minor injuries when moving out of harm’s way,” she said. “[Paramedics] treated them on the scene and then transported them to hospital.”

The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation, however Birch said there are no indications that impaired driving was a factor.

“We were very grateful that there were no serious injuries,” she said. “And obviously we’d like to encourage everyone to take care when operating a vehicle.”
