Early morning Abbotsford shooting leaves one person injured

Abbotsford police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

Police were called at 5:06 a.m. on July 11 for a "weapons complaint" in the 2000 block of Topaz Street.

A  man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital.

Police believe the shooting may have been a targeted incident. 

Const. Art Stele, an Abbotsford Police Department media relations officer, said the major crime unit has taken over the investigation. 

“No arrests have been made at this time,” Stele said in a news release.
