A young man has made a big impact on local first responders with a handwritten letter.
Nanaimo RCMP recently received a note penned by an anonymous young man with a heartfelt message of thanks.
The letter starts with “I just wanna say thank you, a great big thank you for taking care of our citizens in Nanaimo."
Reserve Const. Gary O’Brien said the note is so sweet that they wanted to share it with the general public.
“The young man who penned it... took a few minutes from his day to convey how he truly feels about first responders and the work they do,” says O’Brien in a statement.
The boy says he’s thankful for all the work police, firemen, paramedics, nurses, health-care and essential workers do “all over Canada and everywhere all around the world.”
He admits the last year has been hard and challenging but the work of first responders does not go unrecognized.
“I hope that COVID comes to an end real soon,” he says. “Keep up the great work and good job.”
Supt. Lisa Fletcher wanted to extend her thanks to the young writer.
“You are a fine example of the next generation!” says Fletcher.
