Police officers in B.C. stopped a commercial truck driver heading into work who was allegedly drunk.
At 6 a.m. on Dec. 4, officers with the Abbotsford Police Department noticed a driver was struggling to stay in the lane on the roadway.
"The officer conducted a vehicle stop to check sobriety and found that the 45-year-old Class 1 driver was impaired by alcohol,” says a spokesperson.
Officers learned the man was on his way to work to drive a transport truck.
"Can you believe that he asked us to cut him a break,” says the spokesperson.
The driver’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days and he was issued a 90-day driving suspension.
