You may notice a different-looking TransLink bus on the roads of Burnaby and New Westminster in the coming weeks.
TransLink is beginning to test its Letenda Electrip battery-electric bus with the goal of moving to a zero-emissions fleet by 2040.
The 30-foot bus, which has 22 seats and a maximum capacity of 44 passengers, will be used on multiple bus routes and loops while the company evaluates its reliability, charging and range.
Those who ride on the bus will also have a chance to provide feedback. Instead of charging a fare (trips will be free during the trial), customers will be asked to fill out a short survey.
For two weeks starting on March 21, you could see the bus on the following Burnaby and New West bus routes.
