Vancouver police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting in the downtown core.

A Vancouver man has been charged with resisting arrest after returning to the scene of an alleged child abduction.

Vancouver Police Department officers were notified that a suspect was breaching release conditions and was at West Coast Family Centre at 9 a.m. on April 4.

Police say the man was breaching conditions following his arrest on March 13 in connection to an Amber Alert.

Video taken from the scene on April 4 shows a group of people standing in a grass area with handmade signs and musical instruments.

The man was with three other adults and several children. Police believe the group was protesting.

When police arrived and took the suspect into custody, he resisted and assaulted one of the officers.

Davis Lim, 39, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Lim has since been released.

His current bail conditions restrict him from attending any Ministry of Children and Family Development office in B.C.
