A woman has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing a woman in the Surrey neighbourhood of Whalley.
Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck, but when officers arrived they located a woman with stab wounds.
The woman was located with life-threatening injuries near 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard. She was transported to the hospital where she remains.
Sgt. Tammy Lobb says a suspect was immediately arrested nearby.
Jennifer Kipp, 36, was charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. She remains in custody until her next court appearance, which is scheduled for Sept. 13.
Police believe this was a targeted incident.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
