Dollarton Mill
The Canadian Robert Dollar Company bought the land for its sawmill operation in North Vancouver, out toward Deep Cove, in 1916. Employees lived in an adjacent village site known as Dollarton, which in 1918 was linked by road to central North Vancouver. Dollar was a Scottish-born lumber-man who developed a significant trans-Pacific trade in lumber from the Dollarton mill. This is a view of the interior of the mill not long before it closed in 1942.
