Second Narrows Bridge
Originally built in 1925, the original Second Narrows Bridge met its untimely demise in 1930 when The Pacific Gatherer—towed by the tugboat, Lorne—knocked out its centre span. This was only a few months after another ship tore away the south span of the bridge. The bridge remained out of service until the provincial government purchased it four years later.
