Sacred Heart Church

Originally named Sacred Heart, Greater Vancouver’s oldest surviving Catholic church was built in North Vancouver in 1884 for the Squamish Nation members who had converted. Seen here in an 1890s photo, the church was rededicated as St. Paul’s in honour of the second Catholic bishop of Vancouver when the church was renovated in 1910.
