MacMillan Bloedel
A local brutalist landmark, the MacMillan Bloedel, or MacBlo, building at Thurlow and Georgia was designed by Arthur Erickson. It opened in 1968, during the period when the brutalist style of architecture—which the Canadian Oxford Dictionary calls a “heavy plain style”—was flourishing.
