Nine O’clock Gun
Nine o’clock gun. A cannon was installed in Stanley Park in this shed near Brockton Point in 1894. Every evening at nine o’clock the gun was fired by a telegraph operator typing a key to close the circuit. The shed was demolished in 1936 and the mechanism was modernized, but the Nine O’Clock Gun still booms out across Burrard Inlet every evening.
