Vancouver Now & Then: Washington Court in 1919 and 2020

This West End apartment building has had six floors, sometimes five.
Washington Court
The Washington Court on Thurlow in the West End has had different heights over the years since it was built in 1910.

When it was built in 1910, this building at 998 Thurlow St had five floors. Several months later, a sixth floor was added, as shown in this picture.

In 1966 a fire destroyed the top floor of the Washington Court apartments, and it went back to having just five floors. In 2018 another fire damaged several suites in the West End apartment building.

And that's the 'storey' of Washington Court.
