A new cotton sleepwear brand called Sons just launched in Vancouver.

A new capsule collection of cotton sleepwear just launched in Vancouver.

Founded by best friends Tlell Wilson and Carly Jefferson, Sons consists of three different floral pattern cotton pyjama sets in three different colour ways and accessories such as sleep masks, scrunchies, and boxer shorts.

“We wanted to offer sleep sets that feel like getting into a fresh set of cotton sheets - something that is breathable, soft, cute and will last,” says Jefferson. “We are passionate about good sleep, natural materials and making positive change and couldn't be more excited to launch a collection of sleep essentials designed with purpose.”

Sons collection is made sustainably with 100 per cent cotton – a naturally gentle, durable, and hypoallergenic material – in limited runs at a small-scale supplier in Dongguan, China, that the brand says provides a safe working environment and competitive wages for all their employees.

Additionally, Sons says that five per cent of proceeds from every purchase are donated to Ride 4 a Woman in Bwindi, Uganda, a charitable organization that supports women struggling with poverty, HIV and domestic violence.

Jefferson reportedly grew up in Uganda and “giving back to the community that is so close to her heart is incredibly important,” reads the press release.

The pyjama sets come in different styles: traditional long pants and a long sleeve button down, shorts and a collared short sleeve button down, or the choice of a cami-and-shorts with lace trim combo.

The designs are meant to be versatile enough to double as leisure wear and be worn in settings beyond sleep.

“These pyjamas are meant for weekend brunches, bridal parties, lazy days at home or even a morning coffee run,” says Jefferson.

The PJs start at $175 and come in two sizes, s/m and m/l which may not accommodate a larger bust.

For now, the collection is only available online but Jefferson and Wilson have plans to roll out the sleepwear and accessories at select retailers in Vancouver in the coming months.
