A Strathcona tattoo shop has come up with a creative way to celebrate the upcoming release of the two new Pokemon games, Violet and Scarlet.
Online, fans of the games are preoccupied with the recent leaks of starter details, evolutions, and story plot points but here in Vancouver the lead up to the games (just two weeks away) is much more wholesome.
Tumbleweed Tattoo held a draft back in October where artists went head to head determine which starter Pokemon would be part their flash line up for a weekend-long event co-sponsored by Comic Sense.
On November 19 and 20 from noon to 6 p.m., people can get Pokemon flash tattoos from one of four artists and be automatically entered into a draw to win one of two gift baskets that include either the Scarlet or Violet game.
The artists Lily Jade, Matthew Corvus, Nat Murray, and Sierra Holmes all tattoo in different styles and have started posting sneak peeks of their flash designs on Instagram. The full roster list for each artist can be found here.
All flash are $300 plus tax and will be tattooed in full-colour. Some have shiny versions available but you have to chose the correct pokeball out of three for a chance to win; only one contains the shiny version (you get two tries).
Twitch streamer and cosplayer Elreca also known as @shinysherizard will be hosting the event.
