After 11 years in Gastown, Secret Location will be closing its doors this week.
The luxury concept store made the announcement via its Instagram account. The last day of business will be Sat., Dec. 3.
Eagle-eyed residents of the area may have noticed the for lease sign in the window last month which hinted something was up at 1 Water St.
The news means that shoppers can nab niche designer items for 90 per cent off online with an additional 40 per cent off prices in-store now through the boutique's final day as they attempt to clear out inventory before they close up shop.
It isn't a total goodbye, however. The announcement leaves room for the future, teasing a second act for the brand which includes a new location (secret for now, duh) and in-house products.
Next year Secret Location will be holding a series of Pop-ups throughout the spring and summer culminating in the launch of the new space. They promise Secret Location 2.0 will also include new brands, partnerships, and events.
In the meantime, fans can continue to find them online.
Secret Location is also a full-service luxury design firm for residential and commercial clients founded by Carey Hulshof which will continue to operate after the closure.
At one point in time, the store even housed its own restaurant, which occupied the eastern half of the retail space. Secret Location the restaurant closed in 2016 after a four-year run, and the space is now Monarca, with Carrall Street address and entrance.
Secret Location has also supported many up-and-coming Vancouver fashion personalities over the years and provided the space for brand pop-ups and events.
