Police are investigating an argument that escalated into a double stabbing in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside Monday.
Two people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a fight that broke out shortly after noon, officers say.
It is not clear what prompted the altercation near East Hastings and Columbia streets, but one person has been arrested as a result.
Vancouver Police Department Cst. Tania Visintin said it's one of several violent incidents recently in the DTES.
"Five people have been stabbed in the Downtown Eastside in the last three days alone," she said in a press release.
“It is too early in the investigation to say if any of these are linked. However, investigators from our major crime section have been engaged.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
