The Ukrainian community and its supporters will gather at the Vancouver Art Gallery on March 5 d to show support for Ukraine during the Russian invasion.

"I am Russian and I am against the war."

That was a sign held by a woman in a sea of thousands of people who attended the pro-Ukraine demonstration in Vancouver on Saturday (Feb. 26). Many of them wore yellow and blue — the colours of the Ukrainian flag — and carried signs in support of the country. Other attendees held signs that admonished Russian President Vladimir Putin or simply the act of war.

The Ukrainian community and its supporters will gather outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery again this weekend to show support for Ukraine following Russia's full-scale invasion of the country.

Also called the "Vancouver Stands with Ukraine against Russian Invasion - Anti-War Rally," this demonstration is planned for Saturday (March 5) at 1 p.m.

Event organizer Pavlo Ponikarovskyi thanked the people who came out in solidarity for the Ukrainian people last weekend but writes in a Facebook post that "bombs are still killing civilians" and that more pressure needs to be applied on governments around the world to take action.

In addition to attending the rally, Ponikarovskyi suggests donating to Ukrainian-related aid and non-profits, sharing information with friends and on social networks, and writing to local MPs.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress BC Provincial Council and Vancouver Branch have also issued a B.C. and Vancouver-wide call to action to continue its "Stand With Ukraine" campaign.
