B.C is close to reaching an 80% immunization level for COVID-19, according the provincial health office's daily press release for Friday, July 9.
There have been 45 new cases confirmed since Thursday, which is down slightly compared to the last couple of days. There have been no deaths and no new outbreaks at health care or long-term care facilities.
There are currently 661 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C., with 73 people in hospital and 19 in intensive care.
As of Friday, 79.7% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received at least one dose of one of three vaccines, and 78.6% of those 12 and older have been vaccinated.
A total of 44.2% of all eligible adults in B.C. are now fully vaccinated with two doses, and 41.3% of those 12 and older are fully vaccinated.
There have been no outbreaks at long-term care or assisted living facilities for the past few days. There are three hospitals that still have ongoing outbreaks: Laurel Place at Surrey Memorial Hospital, Eagle Ridge Hospital (Fraser Health) and Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health).
