While it has the air of a cottage near an English village, this Shaughnessy home offers a bit more.
The five-bedroom, eight-bath house at 1638 Marpole Ave. is going for a cool $15.88 million. That comes with all the usual stuff you might expect in a mansion, like hardwood floors, high ceilings and French doors.
There's also an indoor pool, a work-room and an "entertainment-sized" dining room (how big that is isn't mentioned). In the video it appears numerous rooms are lit by either a chandelier or a wall sconce (we spotted at least seven chandelier or chandelier-like fixtures).
And of course there's a sauna, hot tub and wet bar (not all in the same room), along with views from the deck of the city and mountains in the background.
The whole property is surrounded by huge hedges, which adds a bit to the cottage-y feeling it exudes.
According to BC Assessment, the property hasn't sold in the last three years and was assessed in 2020 at $7.9 million.
