Service on the Canada Line in Richmond will end three hours early next week, from Tuesday Sept. 6 to Thursday Sept. 8, to allow construction crews to work on the new Capstan Station.
TransLink made the announcement on Monday morning, warning commuters about the disruption between Bridgeport and Brighouse stations.
As such, TransLink will be deploying an extra bus service when the train service ends on those nights at 10:30 p.m.
TransLink said construction crews will be using cranes to continue installing large pieces of steel to connect the top of the station’s H-frames and begin installing the station’s steel elevator shaft.
YVR train service will increase during shutdown
During the shutdown, the Bridgeport to YVR service frequencies will increase by 10 minutes.
The extra bus service will stop at each of the Canada Line stations between Bridgeport and Brighouse.
TransLink said the new Capstan station remains on track to open in 2023.
