If you weren’t able to catch a glimpse of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds team flying over Metro Vancouver yesterday, plenty of photos and videos were captured to help relive the experience.
The team’s signature nine Snowbirds were joined by a member of the CF-18 Demonstration team as they flew above a dozen Lower Mainland hospitals to honour healthcare workers. The aerobatics tour was part of Operation Inspiration which was started in 2020 to salute Canadians doing their part to fight the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The operation also provides an opportunity to carry on the legacy of Captain Jenn Casey, the Snowbirds Public Affairs Officer who lost her life in a crash near Kamloops during the first iteration of the operation in May last year.
The formation took off from YVR airport around 3 p.m. July 16, and flew at a height of YVR airport at 3 p.m. and was easily spotted flying at a height of 1,000 feet.
