Charis Hogg from 102.7 The Peak had a rough go while filming a bit where she was pretending to leap over the barge that's wedged at Sunset Beach in Vancouver.

The morning radio show host headed down to the West End with her co-host Jeremy Baker and production crew Marcus Gordon and Jessica Wong on Friday, Nov. 19. Baker tells Vancouver Is Awesome that he was the jump's "engineer."

The idea for the bit was that Hogg was to ride toward the jump in front of the barge but stop beside it. They planned to, in Baker's words, "use some campy animation" to make it appear as though she soared over the beached spectacle.

Instead, all hell broke loose.

As you'll see in the video they shared to social media, she sailed past the jump, attempted to stop before hitting a bench, then did a faceplant over the handle bars.

Hogg tells V.I.A. that the 5-speed bike she's riding in the video belongs to her young son, and that while she rides often, she considers herself a "mediocre mountain biker."

In terms of injuries, she says she's lucky to have gotten away with only a couple of bruises as a result of the mishap. She thinks she was spared thanks to the Alpine Stars motorcycle jacket she borrowed from Marcus from the production crew, as well as the NASA space gloves she borrowed from her kid.

Did she learn anything from the experience? Yep. She tells us that she learned to "Dream big. Go hard." and "Surrender to the ground."
