Someone who likes right angles must have designed this house.
The home at 5038 Arbutus Street in the Quilchena neighbourhood of Vancouver has a unique design with plenty of boxy shapes and right angles integrated into the design. The relatively new structure (it was finished in 2020) is an "interpretation of west coast contemporary architecture" according to realtor Crystal Wang.
Along with the very angular design, it also includes a lot of wood and glass in the hosting areas, with huge exposed beams in to lean on as you look out the windows. There's also wooden planks for steps and a wooden deck around the outdoor pool and fireplace.
There's a second outdoor fire pit on the roof, where skylights are part of the floor. That's just one of quite a few decks or terraces.
Another unusual feature of this house is the lit staircase inside, which appear to give off a blue glow. Other highlights include a wet bar, several fireplaces, and the views, as it sits on a bit of a ridge.
The whole thing is going for $12.9 million.
