While Sunday and Monday will see some grey skies and a chance of showers, late July looks to be mostly sunny and warm.

The Environment Canada forecast for Metro Vancouver shows grey skies and cooler temperatures Sunday, July 17. That'll be followed by a cloudy Monday with a 40 per cent chance of showers and light breeze. In the evening it's expected to clear up with a low of 13 C, the coolest temperature for the week.

Following that bit of early week instability, the federal agency is expecting a stable, sunny, warm week.

From Tuesday to straight through to Saturday, July 23, (which is where the mid-term forecast ends) Vancouver can expect highs in the mid-20s, clear sunny skies and evening lows around 15 C.

Environment Canada notes that temperatures closer to the water will peak around 25 C through the week, while temperatures will be around 3 C warmer, peaking closer to 28 C.

Further inland, the Fraser Valley will see a bit more rain on Monday, July 18, with showers predicted through the day and winds up to 40 km/h. Once the sun arrives temperatures will peak closer to 29 C.
