Fraser Health is warning the public of a COVID-19 exposure event at an Abbotsford Sikh temple during the course of nine days.

The agency says people who attended the Bada Banda Singh Bahadar Sikh Society could have been exposed between 4:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, 27, 29 to 31, or Nov. 3 to 6.

According to its website, anyone who was at the 31631 South Fraser Way temple during these times is being asked to self-monitor for symptoms.

"Those who show symptoms are asked to self-isolate and seek testing," Fraser Health clarified on its website.

Temple remains open to worshippers

A call to the society Thursday morning by Vancouver Is Awesome, found that the temple currently remains open.

Fraser Health lists public exposures to reach any people who may have potentially become infected who they could not contact privately.

An “exposure event" has been defined by the health authority as “a single person with lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection who attended during their infectious period."
