On Sunday, September 30th, thousands of people will flood Vancouver's Canada Place terminal with cruise ship passengers and crew.
Not only is one of the world's largest ships docking at the pier that day, but two other, sizeable vessels will dock at the port. As a result, there will be far more foot and vehicle traffic in the downtown core.
For one, the Norwegian Bliss, which has never visited Vancouver before, will load a whopping 4,200 passengers onboard. And, because this is the mighty, 20-deck-high vessel's lone stop in the city this year, there will be an abundance of spectators. Up until this time, the sky-scraping sea behemoth hasn't been able to fit under the Lions Gate Bridge.
In addition, Holland America Line's Westerdam will also visit the pier en route to Asia. While it isn't anywhere near the size of the Bliss, this mid-size beauty still packs an impressive 1,964 passengers. Further, the passenger capacity does not factor in crew, which may also be in the area for a limited times.
Similarly, Holland America Line's Noordam will also disembark on Sunday on route to Australia, and it will carry a sizeable 1,972 passengers.
As a result, this means that an incredible 8,136 cruise ship passengers will board the three vessels at the pier. As such, you may want to factor that into your weekend plans.
