As the rain bucketed down several hundred people gathered on the sidewalk in front of city hall Sunday, Nov. 7, to wave signs at traffic.
The group carried a variety of anti-vaccine and anti-vaccine mandate signs. While they didn't block traffic, vehicles did slow while passing the crowded sidewalk. Signs often seen at similar were spotted again, claiming issues around coercion, privacy and freedom.
It was a larger crowd than gathered to hear anti-vaccine activist Chris Sky on Wednesday, Nov. 3. The event preceded the protest planned at the Vancouver airport (and others).
While some drivers honked support, others clearly were frustrated or angry at the crowd on the sidewalk.
So far there have been more than 2,200 deaths caused by the coronavirus in B.C. since the pandemic began, with more than 29,000 across Canada. Worldwide more than 5 million deaths.
