Police are recommending charges against a North Vancouver man after he wrapped his Porsche 911 Turbo around a pole in downtown Vancouver.
The 49-year-old was driving the sports car east down West Georgia around 10 a.m., Dec. 14, when he lost control and hit a pole near Bute Street, in front of the Paradox Hotel.
"This driver was well over twice the legal limit. This is the second time in less than two years he is facing criminal charges for impaired driving," tweeted the VPD's traffic section.
One lane had to be blocked while the situation was dealt with. The man was uninjured, state police, but was taken to hospital as a precaution after the airbags deployed.
"We believe alcohol was a factor and will be recommending impaired driving charges," the VPD tells Vancouver Is Awesome.
