One of the major streets connecting Vancouver to the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus will be closed for nearly two full days for a film production, the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has advised.
West 16th Avenue between Blanca Street and Wesbrook Mall will close to all vehicular traffic from Sunday, Sept. 15 at 5 a.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 1 a.m.
Drivers can detour via University Boulevard and Chancellor Boulevard during the closures; the routes will be marked with signs.
In addition to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians will not be allowed on West 16th Avenue between Blanca Street and Wesbrook Mall on Monday afternoon. Trails in Pacific Spirit Park or University Boulevard are the suggested detours for cyclists and pedestrians.
Anyone travelling to and from the UBC campus during the closure should plan for additional travel time.
The Ministry added that West 16th will be open to all traffic ahead of rush hour on Tuesday morning.

There are several series and features in production in and around Vancouver, including returning hits like Yellowjackets or new shows such as The Hunting Party.
One of the biggest shows to film in Vancouver this year has been The Last of Us, which uses the code name "Mega Sword." Though production had initially wrapped last month, the Vancouver Sun reports that the show has returned this weekend to Vancouver for more filming, though none of the locations appear to be West 16th Avenue near UBC.
