Legends Haul is recalling one of its chicken products after failing to declare wheat as one of the ingredients on the label.
The Vancouver company's Chicken Pesto Parm Sausage is being taken away from markets across B.C. following test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Members of the public that are allergic or sensitive to wheat, including those that have celiac disease or gluten-free disorders, are most at risk if they eat the chicken sausage.
In a statement on Tuesday, March 18, the CFIA explained consumption of the product "may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction."
"There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of this product," the statement added.
"The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products."

Anyone that's recently purchased Legends Haul's Chicken Pesto Parm Sausage are encouraged to check its label for the matching codes above.
Consumers can either throw out the product or return it to where it was purchased, CFIA stated, but do not eat the chicken sausage if allergic.
The public is also asked not to serve, use or sell the recalled products.
Canadians are encouraged to report health or safety incidents from any product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
Legends Haul is located at 2768 Rupert St. According to its label, its products are handcrafted in Vancouver and "produced in a facility that processes nuts."
The store locator on the company's website shows its products are sold at around 40 different grocery establishments in the city, including Save-On-Foods, Whole Foods Market, Fresh Prep, Fresh St. Market and Spud.
