Free WiFi now on board all of Vancouver's RapidBus lines

Customers can now use free WiFi while commuting on TransLink’s express RapidBus buses.

TransLink and Rogers Communications are installing free public WiFi system-wide on transit vehicles and at transit hubs which will be available to anyone with a mobile device.

Currently, customers can access free WiFi:

  • On all five RapidBus routes and some other articulated buses
  • Onboard most SeaBus vessels
  • On some SkyTrain cars
  • At both SeaBus terminals, Edmonds Station, New Westminster Station, Carvolth Exchange, and Langley Centre Exchange

TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn points out in a media release that the upgrade means passengers can enjoy the RapidBus service without having to spend money on data fees.

The process of installing free public WiFi on transit vehicles and hubs is ongoing with the goal of making the entire system WiFi accessible.
