Libo Zhang of Vancouver won over half a million dollars on a scratch lottery ticket.

A local man's "spur-of-the-moment" decision at a Vancouver gas station has changed his life.

Libo Zhang was at the Chevron at Main Street and East 41st Avenue when he decided to get a Set For Life scratch ticket, according to the BCLC.

“I was at the gas station and went in to buy a [Lotto] 6/49 ticket and saw Set for Life,” recalls Zhang in a press release. “I had it folded in my pocket and decided to scratch an hour after I purchased it.”

When he did get around to it, he realized it was a winner and told his wife.

“She didn’t believe me when I first told her. I sent her a picture [of the ticket] so she could see,” he says.

With the newfound wealth, he's taking his wife for a nice dinner out and helping his son buy a house.
