Here are some traffic changes to be on the lookout for in Vancouver this weekend

Vancouverites to steer clear of the area around Broadway City Hall Station over the next few days
traffic
Work on the Broadway Subway Project will affect traffic around Broadway City Hall Station, Alberta Street to Yukon Street, Cambie Street and Yukon streets.

If you've got places to be this weekend you might want to avoid these routes that are being disrupted by some major construction.

With work on the Broadway Subway Project underway, the project's team is advising Vancouverites to steer clear of the area around Broadway City Hall Station. Traffic changes on Broadway from Alberta Street to Yukon Street will be extended west to Cambie Street overnight on Sunday, July 11 into Monday, July 12. As well, traffic between Cambie and Yukon streets will be reduced and shifted to the north side of Broadway to align with the three-lane configuration (2 eastbound and 1 westbound) between Yukon Street and Alberta Street.

Once completed later this year, four lanes will be restored on Broadway, while construction continues below the traffic deck. Of the 5.7 kilometres of the extended line, 700 metres will be elevated, extending from VCC-Clark Station to a tunnel entrance near Great Northern Way. The rest will be tunnelled below the Broadway Corridor from Great Northern Way to Arbutus Street using a pair of tunnel-boring machines.
